How long is the Hunua Falls walk?
You can complete the Hunua Falls walk in about 15 minutes. The track is 800m with a few steep climbs, but plenty of areas for a rest if needed.
The Upper Lookout Walk can be completed in about 30 mins.
Can you swim at the Hunua Falls?
Although you can swim at the Hunua Falls, it is not recommended. If you and the family do intend to take a dip, make sure children are supervised at all times. There is also a flotation device on hand if needed. As of 2019, at least 16 people are known to have drowned while swimming at the falls.
What are the Hunua Falls hours?
An automatic gate is located at the park entrance, opening at 8 am and closing at 9 pm during daylight savings (or 7 pm outside of daylight savings). Be sure to plan your visit accordingly.
